Lap Steel Russian style

Scene from old Soviet movie "До свиданья, мальчики" (1964). John Dunker (real name Ivan Ivanovich Sokolov) was very popular performer in late 1930's. Lady playing piano accompaniment and audience are very typical for that time. This was the only image of Hawaiian music I knew for years, just had no idea about Sol Hoopii, pedal triple neck steels etc.

One of the first recordings of hawaiian music I've got and still love it, When My Wahini Does the Poi in particular, which I never heard anywhere else. Absolutely no idea who is playing and singing, but the voice and arrangement are awesome, sounds like recorded in 50-60s, if you have any information, feel free to comment, would like to find more from these artists.
